We’re looking for 15 young people aged 11–18 from across Wales to join a brand-new Youth Voice Network with Our Voice Our Journey and the Electoral Commission. And you definitely don’t need to be an expert in politics to get involved.
In fact, we really want to hear from young people who haven’t had many opportunities to talk about voting, elections or democracy before. Our Youth Voice Network will be active for 4 years.

What will the Youth Voice Network do?
This is about giving young people a real say.
As part of the network, you’ll get opportunity to:
- share your opinions and experiences
- tell the Electoral Commission what young people actually think
- help create campaigns and resources for other young people
- learn more about voting, elections and how decisions are made
- meet other young people from across Wales
- take part in online sessions and residential meet-ups
- build skills and confidence along the way
Most importantly, you don’t need to know all the answers. We want your opinions, your questions and your ideas.
Who can join the Youth Voice Network?
We’re looking for young people who:
- Are aged 11–18
- Live in Wales
- Want to have their voice heard
We want the network to include young people from different parts of Wales, different communities and with different experiences. We also want to make sure we have some fluent Welsh speakers within the network!
Do I need to worry about travel?
When we meet in person, we’ll be bringing young people together from across Wales. Your travel costs will be covered, so where you live shouldn’t stop you from getting involved. Your time and contribution will also be recognised through Tempo Time Credits.
How much do I need to know about politics?
Seriously – nothing. You don’t need to follow the news, know who everyone in government is or understand how elections work. We can help with that bit.
What matters is that you’re willing to tell us what you think and be a reliable member of the network.
