Journeys have always held a special kind of magic for us at Our Voice Our Journey, they are at the heart of everything we have done since the very beginning.
The idea for Our Voice Our Journey was first planted during a life-changing trip across the world with an incredible group of young people and youth workers, made possible through the support of Taith Wales. What began as a journey of discovery soon became the foundation for something much bigger: a platform dedicated to amplifying young people’s voices, stories, hopes, and ambitions.
From the outset, founder Anne-Marie knew this was never going to be a journey taken alone. When Heather Smith agreed to come on board as a founding board member, the vision truly began to take shape. Together, they laid the foundations for an organisation built on collaboration, belief, and shared purpose to make a difference to young people’s futures.
Last week marked another unforgettable milestone in that journey, as Anne-Marie and Heather were honored to attend the Garden Party at Buckingham Palace following their nomination in recognition of the organisation’s work and impact across Wales.Â
The occasion was not only a celebration of how far the organisation has come, but also a reflection of the growing community behind it. From dedicated team members and supportive organisational partners to the young people who so bravely share their experiences, hopes, and dreams. Every person involved continues to shape the story of Our Voice Our Journey.
Most importantly, the organisation remains deeply grateful to the young people at the centre of its mission. Their courage, creativity, and determination inspire everyone involved and continue to drive the work forward each and every day.
While attending Buckingham Palace was a proud and memorable chapter, the most important parts of this journey are still ahead. With exciting opportunities, new voices, and even bigger ambitions on the horizon, Our Voice Our Journey cannot wait to see where the journey leads next.
